The Nisshin OilliO Group Soybean Sourcing Policy

Soybean Sourcing Policy

The Nisshin OilliO Group sources soybeans mainly from the United States and Brazil, manufactures products, and supplies them to customers. When sourcing materials, we tackle the improvement of sustainability in accordance with The Nisshin OilliO Group Basic Procurement Policy. In the sourcing of soybeans, we will make even greater efforts to enhance sustainability, giving priority to addressing the improvement of environmental considerations and respect for fundamental human rights throughout the supply chain in producing regions.

  • We will source soybeans from suppliers who show consideration for sustainability by taking account of the environment, such as preventing the destruction of forests in producing regions and reducing CO2 emissions, and by respecting fundamental human rights.
  • We will continuously conduct fact-finding surveys relating to soybean production and traceability in soybean-producing countries and endeavor to enhance sustainability throughout the supply chain. Furthermore, if any issues relating to sustainability arise, we will make efforts to solve them in cooperation with suppliers.
  • We will promote research into certification schemes aimed at enhancing soybean sustainability, cooperate with certifying organizations when necessary, and engage in the sourcing of certified soybeans.

* We may revise our goals to take account of social and environmental changes, new knowledge, etc.
