The Nisshin OilliO Group’s commitment to R&D
The technical division is the driving force behind our Group’s value creation. It leverages its technological and product development capabilities, cultivated through years of vegetable oil and fat research, to meet our customers’ diverse needs, including promoting good health, enhancing flavor, and reducing environmental impact. Also, by advancing oil processing technologies and lipid nutrition research, as well as pursuing greater taste excellence, we maximize The Natural Power of Plants, which is the foundation of our value creation. This enables us to develop cutting-edge solutions and products, securing our sustainable competitive advantage.
Technological contributions for resolving societal issues
To resolve personal health issues, we are gathering evidence on the health benefits of MCTs for prevention of frailty and reduction of metabolic syndrome. Additionally, to address challenges facing the global environment, we are developing production technologies that contribute to decarbonization, reducing plastic consumption, and developing containers and packaging that support recycling. Furthermore, to boost future demand for edible oil from the perspective of food supply and dietary needs, we have joined an industry-government-academia project researching algae as a new oilseed resource. Through R&D on algae, which, like plants, can produce oils through photosynthesis, we aim to focus even more intensely on solving societal challenges.
Tracing the future with R&D
To ensure that the Group can continuously generate innovation, we will maximize the use of our newly established Incubation Square as our platform for creating value, aiming to resolve challenges with a focus on co-creation. Through collaboration with our customers, we create diverse perspectives and ideas. By applying the insights gained therein to other co-creation initiatives, we will enhance the potential for solutions and innovation, expanding the value the Group can deliver. Through global co-creation with diverse customers, we aim to cultivate talent with a broad perspective, capable of creating new value while resolving societal issues. Leveraging our substantial technical capabilities and human resources, we will play a central role in driving transformation toward becoming a global top provider of oils & fats solutions.
