Achieving sustainability
The Nisshin OilliO Group is dedicated to achieving sustainability—specifically, the sustainable growth of the Group and the sustainable advancement of society—by working with society to create shared value through solutions to societal issues.
In the past several years, the circumstances surrounding the Group have changed substantially. On a global scale, we are dealing with a plethora of environmental issues, and geopolitical risks are ever present, as shown by the emergence and spread of COVID-19 and Russia’s invasion of Ukraine. In Japan, the birthrate is rapidly declining as the population continues to age.
Under these circumstances, the Group has set The Nisshin OilliO Group Vision 2030 (Vision 2030) and is promoting efforts to achieve sustainability.
The Nisshin OilliO Group Value Creation Model
The source of our value creation is the Natural Power of Plants, a combination of plant resources with unlimited potential, refined technical skills, and value creation capacity. We work with our customers to create oils and fats solutions to societal issues by leveraging the Natural Power of Plants and our hard-earned expertise in oils and fats, which are our core competence.
We create and deliver a variety of valuable energy for living to everyone in pursuit of the six priorities (materiality) we identified in terms of the Group’s business needs and what the Group must accomplish—specifically, good health for all, quality of life, global environment, contribution to the food value chain, supply chain connected by trust, and human resource management. Energy for living resolves societal issues while creating capital that enables plant resource recycling and technological evolution for the next stage of growth. We reinvest this capital to further advance our expertise in oils and fats and to create more energy for living to resolve societal issues. By cycling through this process again and again, we will achieve a form of sustainability distinct to the Group.

Process for identifying our priorities
To realize the Vision 2030, we identified six priorities on which the Group should focus its efforts. Our solutions in pursuit of these priorities will position creating shared value (CSV) as the driver of growth.
